Mark attended high school at McClean’s College in East Auckland. After leaving high school he completed a Science Degree at The University of Auckland.

He then decided to pursue a career in dentistry at the University of Otago. After graduating with a Bachelor of Dental surgery (BDS), he worked as a dental house surgeon at Dunedin Public Hospital for a year prior to entering private practice in Auckland. His career changed direction when he decided to follow the oral and maxillofacial surgeon training pathway. A prerequisite for this was a medical Degree. Towards the end of his medical degree at The University of Auckland he was accepted in to the University of Otago Clinical Doctorate program in Orthodontics. These days Mark divides his time as a specialist orthodontist between TOG and Middlemore Hospital Craniofacial Unit. Mark also chairs the education and research development group (ERDG), which is a branch of the New Zealand Orthodontic Association (NZAO). Mark enjoys living in Auckland, where he is close to his family and friends. He uses martial arts as way to stay fit and healthy.

David decided to become an orthodontist after receiving orthodontic treatment himself during his high school years.

He realised the huge difference that orthodontic treatment made to his smile and now he enjoys doing the same for his patients. David completed his secondary education at Manurewa High School in South Auckland. In 1999, he graduated with a Bachelor Dental Surgery (BDS) from the University of Otago and commenced work at Auckland hospital the following year as a dental house surgeon. After leaving the hospital he worked for four years as a dentist in private practice.In 2006, he starting training to become a specialist orthodontist and completed his Clinical Doctorate in Orthodontics at Otago University in 2008. To ensure that his training met international standards, he voluntarily completed a series of examination in orthodontics held by the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and the College of Surgeon Edinburgh. Mark and David have both gained membership to these colleges. David is also a committee member on the New Zealand Orthodontic Association (NZAO) Executive. David lives on Auckland’s North Shore with his wife and three children. He keeps fit by attending the local gym. He tries his best to reduce his carbon foot print by travelling to work on his Vespa.

Yen is a qualified dental therapist and has been a registered orthodontic auxiliary for more than 10 years.

As an orthodontic auxiliary, Yen's role is to assist the specialists in implementing treatment through placement, adjustment and removal of appliances. She enjoys her role in patient's orthodontic treatment and the reward of helping patients achieve a great smile. She also has a keen interest in the latest advancements in orthodontic technology.

Having had braces herself as a teenager, she understands first-hand the positive impact orthodontic treatment can have. When not at work Denise enjoys the outdoor Kiwi lifestyle, crafts and spending time with friends.
